Friday, September 20th. This afternoon is the John Martin Invitational in Ft. Collins. It seems like weeks since we've had a Meet!
The floods and damage from the recent storms has put a damper on our season, but it's time to get back to the fun part of high school.
Today we're looking to run on a fast course and send a message to our competition.

The day is sunny and bright, with a very light breeze. It's perfect for a great run. Looks like we finally get the chance to post some great times!
(Just found out that the website limits the photos. Sure wish all those little details were easy to find!)

Jonah leads the JV boys to the finish line this week. It's a tough sprint for the last 100 yards to the tape!
The Varsity boys get lined up & ready to roll. We need to get out, post some better times & get ourselves back in the running for State.
Isaiah gets off to a good start, then begins his race to the top, picking off the few runners in front of him one at a time.
The JV girls anxiously wait for their start. C'mon, let's go!!
Savannah brings the JV girls to the finish. Oh, wait. Sorry 'bout that. It's "Savannah/I took 2 minutes off my PR today"!
Brittany has herself a great day too. Today she'll be known as "Brittany/I took 4 minutes off my PR"!
The Varsity girls are next up. They know they need to start opening up the throttle a bit more each week, so today is an important run for us.

Jenna leads the Varsity girls to a tie for 6th place on the day, while finishing 6th overall for herself. She's now seconds away from breaking thru to that 19 minute zone.
Isaiah leads the Varsity boys to a 3rd place finish - 2 points away from being in 2nd! Finishing 7th overall, he also lowers his PR this year to the mid 17s. We know that number is going down.....and soon.
The Boys Team runs well today, setting many new PR's (personal records). The Girls Team does the same, and puts themselves back in the running to make some noise at the League & Regional Meets. With only a few weeks to go before those meets, we know we still have a lot of work to do.
But we're sure having fun getting there!!!

So. We had a good day & we're tired/happy. If someone can just get Trip down out of the tree, we can load the bus & go!!
